The view out the window from where we were staying in Portishead….three views from the beach…..a ridiculous photo of me in my new glasses (I CAN SEE AGAIN….IT’S A MIRACLE!)….over the bridge and over into Wales….walking up Sugarloaf hill in the Brecon Beacons….the most impractical boots to walk up a snowy hill in….refreshment break!
I had the most unbelievably chilled out Easter bank holiday. I feel like all I did was sleep and watch films! Oh yeah and a little trip to Portishead/Wales so should probably add driving/being in the car to the list. Sometimes it’s just good to chill out you know?

Last weekend, I stood – with the other members of my immediate family – at the side of a racing track, in the snow, absolutely freezing to watch my mum drive an Aston Martin DB9. This was something which was on her ‘Bucket List’ and an experience which we had bought for her earlier this year for her 50th birthday. I’m probably going to get it in the neck now for advertising her age all over the internet.
The weather and temperature aside, the day was worth it just to see my mum so happy and excited. As the time for her to get in the car drew closer, I snapped this photo of her:
I genuinely think that this is one of my favourite photographs that I have ever taken. It is certainly my favourite photo of my mum. She looks so happy and I can’t help but be reminded of an excited little school girl. I know that this is a moment that I will remember and treasure for a long time.
The caption which accompanies this photo – which she said moments after it was taken – is that she ‘felt more nervous than when getting married’, which I think summarises the moment quite well.

If you haven’t already realised, I’ve got a bit of a thing for female vocalists.
The voice which is currently soothing my soul, comes from Daughter. I’ve been listening to her stuff for a while now but we bought her debut album, If You Leave, this weekend and it is absolutely beautiful. The sound overall is haunting and atmospheric, but mostly very easy to listen to. Just what you need on a Sunday night.

Yeah we actually did it!!! It’s official I have left home and moved to London which is very exciting indeed. It also means I can cross something off 2013 goals list :-).
